Seriously that broccoli is our fave broccoli in the world. Only problem is it isn't on their online menu, only the printed menu, so you have to call to order it. We appreciate that they have a drive thru pick up window. ”

“ In short: The food is good again, give it a try. I used to frequent Chinese Express about 6-8 times per month from 2008 to 2017. It was the best Americanized Chinese food I'd ever had in any state, except for maybe 1990's Old Peking out of Collinsville, IL. I've tried too many Chinese places to count for a comparison. Family and friends both local and out of state also agreed, the 08'-17' Chinese Express was the best they've had as well. The food was so good, that I wish I had tried to work there part time and wrote the recipes down haha. Anyway, ownership of Chinese Express changed hands around 2017 and unfortunately the food changed for the worse. I placed a few orders from 2017 to 2023 just to check up on the place and see if the food had improved. I would've rated the food from 17'-23' a solid one star. I've started ordering again as of June 2024, the food has improved greatly. While not quite as amazing as it used to be, it's still very good and the best around currently. I'll be placing an order right after this review, Beef and Broccoli and Cashew Chicken are hard to beat. ”

Service is always fast (ordered in-person right at opening and took only 8 minutes (I was quoted 10-15). As other reviewers have already pointed out, the prices are fantastic; the Braised Chicken Lunch Combo (I chose egg roll and white rice) with an extra side of Wonton Soup cost $13.98. While waiting inside, you can sit in one of the three available chairs. Outside there is booth seating for four. This place is clearly built for take out and completes that function well. As far as the food is concerned, it's nothing special, but what more do you want from your neighborhood American Chinese place? The hot braised chicken is not actually spicy. ”

The sauce is tasty and it's loaded with fresh crunchy vegetables - broccoli, snow peas, mushrooms, onion, carrots and cabbage. Kung Pao Shrimp $9.25 - I got the half order and was expecting some scrawny cheap shrimp and was instead blown away by the huge meaty shrimp that I got.
